Business & Entrepreneurship Mentee

To whom it may concern
Greetings from the Accra RLC!

I am writing with respect to the Mentorship Program for the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is a United States Government Initiative to invest in the next generation of African leaders. The American Government launched YALI in 2010 to support young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa.

As part of this initiative, four Regional Leadership Centers (RLCs), have been created with one each in Ghana, Kenya, Senegal and South Africa.  These Centers serve as regional hubs across the continent to instill transformational learning and enhance leadership skills in young African leaders between the ages of 18 to 35 years for five weeks.  The YALI Regional Leadership Center for West Africa is located at GIMPA in Accra, Ghana.

The Accra RLC has trained over 3000 young West African youth from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Togo, Burkina Faso, The Gambia, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana since April 2015.

As part of the training, participants are required to go through a minimum four weeks of mentorship training to support their professional, career and personal development as leaders, and also to provide guidance to support their medium to long-term growth as leaders.

The participant has expressed interest and desire to have you as a mentor. This participant is a YALI fellow who just completed our five weeks Online Emerging Leaders Program (Cohort 10) here in Accra, Ghana.

Mentors are required to reserve at least an hour per week during the mentoring period to meet with their mentees. The meeting may take place on face-to-face basis, over the telephone or online/email. The mentorship will usually last for a minimum of four weeks and must be done and over with by November 9th, 2018.

I am therefore by this email humbly requesting confirmation of your availability and acceptance to mentor the above named participant.

Please find attached to this email, the YALI Mentorship Framework document, which will serve as a guide during the mentoring sessions, should you accept to mentor the participant.

I trust to hear from you soon

Yours Faithfully
